Reciprocity Yields
Gentle tread of foot
Upon the naked floor,
Steps not into heart
Of one who is sought.
Whispering voices,
Into ears of 'nother,
Pierces not the mind.
Hereafter, cannot find.
Splattering of drops,
So squandered on thee,
Though thee plainly know not;
Regard, so easily forgot.
Fingers withdrawn from
An unwelcomed bowl.
Hesitance and cries;
But no use for self-lies.
Though lips will not tremble
without proper cause,
A heart will grow strong
from emptiness born long.
