The sound of Capricorn's voice jolts me awake. Blurry-eyed, I lurch into a vaguely upright position, hair a mess and looking very dishevelled. Capricorn smiles slightly and shakes his head.
"Dear oh dear. Saggitarius will not be impressed when she sees this, nor will the other Zodiacs. We're going to need to clean you up a bit before you're going anywhere."
"What?" I mumble, still half asleep. "We're going somewhere? And what's this about Ellie?"
Capricorn just smiles and shakes his head. "I think I woke you up a little too early today. Come on, let's get you cleaned up - you're still covered in blood! Didn't they think to clean you up yesterday?"
"Oddly enough no. I was half dead at the time." I mutter, getting to my feet and doing my best to look defiant.
Capricorn rolls his eyes and leads me off through a side door into a large bathroom. To my surprise, there's already a large tup of water in the far corner. How long has it been since I've had a bath? A long time indeed.
Into the bath I go and, after several minutes of somewhat painful scrubbing with a rough block of soap and what I hope was shampoo, I clamber back out of the bath, dripping wet and every hair on my body plastered to my skin. The bath is now a somewhat revolting colour of dried blood, while I now stink exceedingly strongly of citrus fruit. Eugh, I think I preferred the blood.
Capricon presents me with a clean pair of clothes, to my relief it is not some formal council-wear but just a pair of trousers and a loose shirt. Finally, clean and vaguely presentable, Capricorn and I make our way back into the main arena. There is still blood on the ground from the previous day's fight - most of it mine. I shudder at the sight, remembering the fear and pain of the experience. Capricorn snaps his fingers and another portal opens, just as blazing white as the one that brough me here. I cover my eyes and mutter angrily.
"Can't they turn the brightness down on these things?"
Capricorn laughs and steps through, pulling me with him by the arm. I yelp as that familiar tugging feeling takes hold, but before I know it I'm standing in a great courtyard, looking up at the most amazing crystalline tree I have ever seen. Capricorn grins.
"Impressive isn't it? You'll be pleased to know you are the first non-star sign Dark Reaper to set foot here - all the others are either Reapers themselves or took Light Reapers for consorts. You and Saggitarius are quite the pair it seems."
"Saggitarius? Oh .... right." I finally put two and two together, my brain still not working up to speed. I follow Capricorn again, peering curiously around at the great temple-like structures. Finally Capricorn stops in front of a large building and knocks on the door.
"Saggitarius!" he calls. "I think there's someone here to see you."
