No. No, this can't be true. I stare at Capricorn incredulously, shaking my head, trying to wish I could just force him out of existence. It's not true, it can't be true. I get out of the chair and start edging out of the restaurant, eyes still locked on Capricorn's.

"You're not my father. You can't be ... they told me ..."

I can't bear it any longer. Ignoring both my father and Ellie I turn and race out of the restaurant at full pelt. To my horror, I run smack bang into Eric and Melody. Eric grabs me by the scruff of my neck and flings me hard into the ground. I gasp as the breath is knocked clean out of my lungs, but I don't have time to retaliate before Melody's scythe slams into the ground beside my head. I twist out of the way, but Lynette is there, her foot slamming down on my left hand with a sickening crunch. I howl and scramble out of reach, clutching my hand and glaring like some feral animal.

"Come here you slimy bastard." Eric snarls, advancing on me. "I'm not through with you."

He lunges for me and I don't have time to run before he's got me around the midriff and once again sent both of us crashing to the ground, grappling and struggling madly. I can hear Ellie screaming my name, my mark blazing like mad. I manage to knock Eric off me, but his friends aren't far off. I could normally blow all three of them off without a second thought, but now they have me down and my hand is killing me. Not to mention Ellie's panic is beginning to affect me to. Lynette flips me over and wrenches my bad arm up behind my back with one hand.

"That's for breaking my nose." she hisses. I glare up at her.

"Well, what are you going to do with me now?" I snarl, spitting out a mouthful of blood. Eric appears and smiles nastily down at me.

"We're not going to do anything. But we're going to take you to someone who can. You'll pay for everything you've done Sable, and you're going to pay hard." He leans down until his face is almost nose-to-nose with mine. "You'll pay for what you did to Ravyn."

However, the next thing I know, a large clod of earth shoots out of nowhere and smacks into the side of Eric's head. He falls sideways and looks up to find Ellie struggling in Capricorn's grip, screaming inanely. Eric snarls, but a root has curled itself around his leg and won't let go. He twists and calls to Melody and Lynette.

"Take him to the others! We can't let him escape, get him to them now! Go!"

I howl and try to struggle free, but the next thing I know Lynette and Melody are dragging me up through some blazing white portal. I can't free myself, they have both my arms in vice grips and Lynette still has my arm pinned. The portal closes, leaving Eric to grapple with Ellie's roots and only my final desperate cry ringing in the air behind me.

The End
