When the strange Nightmare had disappeared, Spink peeped out from behind Silver. Although he hated to admit it, the experience had scared him and he was grateful for Silver's presence. As well as that of his Blade. Even though something told him it would have been next to useless against this creature, it was still comforting to see something sharp and dangerous between him and it.
"What... what was that?" he whispered, looking up at his leader, eyes wide and scared.
Silver was still staring after the Nightmare and didn't answer him until Spink tugged hard at his arm. When he seemed to come back to reality, he shook his head, as if to shake the memory out of his mind. Much to Spink's dismay, the only reply he gave was a shrug of his shoulders.
"I wish I could answer that Spink, I really wish I could. But I can tell you this, something bad is going on up here. We'll have to be more careful, this could be nasty. Come on, let's get out of here. Those other Nightmares'll catch our scent soon enough, we'd best be out of here before they come back."
With that the two turned and raced off through the dark, Spink sprinting to keep up with Silver's long strides. His mind was whirling, overloaded with information and strange revelations. He shuddered, Silver was right. Something was going on surfaceside.
Spink had the feeling that this wouldn't be the last they saw of that Silent.
