Feeling real love for the first time
He looked over at me and smiled his gorgeous smile; I couldn't help but smile back. The cool wind coming from the wide windows blew my hair around, filling the cab of the truck with the scent of my rich shampoo. He seemed to notice. He took his hand off of the gear shifter and touched a piece of my wild brown hair. His eyes moved from the road to my hair, making me bite my bottom lip nervously. He chuckled. He knew that that made me really nervous, and a little anxious.
My eyes were glued to the road ahead, my heart was racing in my chest, and my legs were shaking nervously. I decided to take a chance to look over at him, to watch his soft eyes concentrate on the road, to watch them observe what was coming next, and maybe, even to see his eyes look over at mine..So I took the chance and I looked over.
He was amazing.
His hand slowly slid from my hair to my waiting left hand; his rough built fingers intertwined between my small, smooth fingers. I smiled, and looked down shyly.
His laugh was beautiful; just like him. I remained silent, but a smile spread across my face instead. I looked out the window to the right. The trees were a blur of green, 1, 5, 10, 20...coming up so slow, but going by so fast.
He liked being fast; he liked the rush of adrenline that came with being fast, and so with that he pushed down on the gas pedal and we rushed past the scenary; the road underneath us disapearing, almost like we were flying.
The wind got stronger, blowing my hair more madly than before. He quickly took his hand away from mine to shift up.
I looked over at him once again; this time not feeling shy at all. At that moment I knew I loved him. He was everything I had ever dreamed of. He was an exceptional, condsiderate, and kind young man.He was perfect.
He felt my eyes on him, and looked over at me. I didn't, and I couldn't look away. I could feel my body's urge to let my hands be in control of me; to let them run over his smooth face, and down his tall body. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach getting more and more rowdy. I felt invincible. I knew I could do it. I was going to do it. He looked over at me again, I blushed.
I laughed. I took one last look at the winding road, and the passing blur of trees, then I focused my gaze back on him- this gorgeous man, my best friend, and my incredible boyfriend He was so perfect. I couldn't get enough of him. This time when his hand slid off the gear shifter I wrapped my hand around his. I felt the courage seep back in. I can do it, I can do it, I thought.
"I love you."
