Serenity Winters

The next morning, I woke up feeling happier than I normally would. I jumped out of bed [literally] and hopped into the shower, turning on the water and letting it drench my hair and myself completely. I sighed, thinking back to last night. I’d finally found out the truth. Elliot. I’d finally met him, seen him for the first time.

I was more then happy – damn, I couldn’t even describe what I was feeling now. The guy I’d fell for was real! Not just a memory! And he was here in this very cabin! That only made me speed up the rate of taking a shower and I quickly raced out, got dressed in a skirt and tank and walked out my room in a normal pace – trying not to make myself look hyper.

“Good morning!” I chirped happily as I walked into the kitchen but found myself talking to empty air. Hmm, where could he be? I stepped out the house and saw the car there, so he hadn’t ditched me [thank God]. Maybe he was sleeping in? It was possible. I headed towards his room and knocked lightly on his door; when I got no reply; I creaked it open and peeked inside.

Elliot was sitting outside on the attached balcony and staring at the sky. Hmm...what was up with this guy? I decided to sneak up on him and he didn't even hear me when I opened the balcony door which made a slight creak itself.

"Boo!" I yelled, lightly slapping my hand on his shoulder but he didn't even move an inch. Maybe he'd seen me or Elliot didn't have any sense of shock.

"Good morning Serenity."

"'morning!"

"What are you doing here?" He asked turning around.

"I just wanted to say good morning and to ask what your plans are for breakfast."

"Breakfast...I hadn't thought about that. Well go get dressed, we can head out for a morning snack."

"We don't have to," I said, trying to reduce our cost of living which he was mainly paying for at the moment. "Let me go check what you bought that day in the supermarket."

I pranced out his room happily and went back to the kitchen. Opening the fridge, I noticed he had a lot of foodstuff in here - milk, eggs, chicken, macaroni, rice and lots more. I could defenitely cook something up with this. So that's how the day came to a start - cooking.

Breakfast went well, I'd managed to make something simple: pancakes with maple syrup. Nevertheless as Elliot took a bite out of it, his eyes widened and he looked up at me as I'd waited for his reaction.

"You never told me you knew how to cook," he said, continuing to eat.

"Well you never asked once, did you?" I replied with a wink.

Breakfast went silently, none of us spoke but eventually he broke it.

"How'd you find out? That...I was Elliot."

I shrugged. "I just knew. It came to me like 'BANG'! No particular reason." There was more silence as I cleared our plates from the table and placed them in the sink and started doing the dishes. I wiped my hands with the small towel and turned around to look at Elliot, leaning back against the cool marble of the kitchen slabs.

"Besides..I've been wondering...how have you been?"

And then before I knew it, I threw myself at him again and not before long I felt his hands wrap around me too. I sighed and then looked up at him, smiling.

"Never been better."
