...

I heard something other than the ticking, I was relived. Even if whoever...whatever was talking was not talking to me, at least I heard them. I tried not to look it directly in the eye, yes it was the correct wording since I did not know what exactly it was. Out of the corner of my eye I saw black..all I saw was black, it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and possibly the most utterly horrid thing i have ever seen. My mind wandered as it often did, and I began to think maybe the things I saw everyone was able to see, but never took the time to notice. Perhaps the things I saw were at the grasp of every human being on the earth, who are they not to take advantage? Who are they to continue in the world but resist to be a part of it in anyway.

Looking at this beautiful black abyss was perhaps the most human i have ever felt, yet I felt like everything in me was stone. But..the ticking continued as it always did when I was feeling right, human, pure. It was maddening, my mind was a maze that no one could ever get out of, a place to die, a place to dream, but never a happy dream. I never had happy dreams.

The bench was uncomfortable, atleast I am sure it would be by now, if i could feel it. Standing up, I continued walking as I did on most days, walking, observing, feeling disgust. The day would come, oh how I knew that the day would come. The fire would burn, it would catch them all and destory this world, if you can call it that, one dark soul at a time.  Relinquishing every last bit of human spirit they had left in them. I continued walking listening to the ticking, I saw a young child, if only she knew the weight she carried around with her. How could they not see, how could that be something they could overlook. It grabbed onto the child like a backpack, the creature did not move, simply the creatures eyes, they watched her from the pertched position on her back sucking the life out of her. How could they not know? Why can this ticking not stop? Why will I not simply tell them?...

The End
