The Important Dream

Laura turns to me.

“Do you want to go upstairs for a minute?” Laura asks in such a... caring manner. I don’t answer, run up the stairs, into my room and shut the door. I go onto my bed and stare up at the ceiling. I feel so tired again... and fall into a deep sleep.

My door is open.... Kelly came in before and gave me an injection, to which I fell asleep to straight away. But now I have woken up from it, and I can hear Laura and Kelly outside.

“I can’t believe it... four years later and we’ve finally done it. We have finally created a successful human... which is normal... and not deformed in anyway... and she’s my daughter... you made yours blind”

“Thanks Kelly” Laura says.

“No I’m sorry I didn’t mean that... don’t hate me”

“Your my best friend, I’d never hate you”

“Hm... how’s Nicola?”

“Not good.... she accidentally cut some chromosomes and her’s doesn’t have any legs”

“Oh my God”

“I know... it’s happened to a few of them”

“Hmm” there is a pause...

“What are you doing with yours?” Laura asks.

“Meh... I don’t want anything to do with her. I just want to leave her here and die peacefully”

“What? The only successful human... and you’re going to leave her here?”

“Yeah... I just... I don’t want a child. I can’t take the responsibility”

“I can’t believe what I’m hearing” Laura walks off”

“Oh... Laura!” my door locks... I know I’m going to die in this place.

The End
