Eavesdropping

I am waking up. Voices whisper in the background. I appear to be in a moving vehicle. A window above me, that’s not something I have been used to waking up to. I look to my right and see a window looking out onto fields; I look to my left and again see a window looking out onto fields. I look down and see that I am on a bed with a blanket on me. I look over to see 4 people sitting around the table in the middle of this vehicle, a rather large vehicle at that. The blonde woman and the other one from my dream with two others who I don’t know. I put my head back down and listen onto their conversation.

“... she’s not going to remember, I drugged her to much so she’s going to think she’s at home with her mother again” the woman with the black hair says. Wait, what does she mean by mother?

“Oh yeah Kelly, cos your a great mother shooting your own daughter with a tranquiliser”Laura says. Daughter? What’s a daughter?

“You were just standing there, I had to do something”

“How could you shoot your own daughter?”

“Oh quit with the mother daughter thing” one says on Laura’s side.

“This has got nothing to do with you Nicola!”

“This has got everything to do with me Laura, as well as Sam and Carly and everyone else is this God damn motor home!”

“I still say we should have left her there” Kelly slams her hand on the table, making me jump a bit.

“I am not telling you again Laura, but there is no way in hell I was leaving my daughter in that place knowing she’s alive!” Kelly yells.

“You’ve got a nerve! This was your idea as well as mine to start this off twenty years ago!”

“I swear – “

“HOI!” a woman’s voice bellows from the drivers seat. “Shut the hell up the lot of you! I want a nice quiet journey for the next hour. I want to hear none of you talking alright?” Silence. I find myself falling into a deep sleep again.

The End
