Room 94. I look down the corridor. This is going to take to long. I can’t ask the others to open the doors, none of them can reach. This is going to take to long. I sigh, grab the wheel and lock it off. Smoke bellows out of the room. It reaches my eyes and I find myself coughing and my eyes watering. I turn around and look in the room. Through the smoke I see something breathing, something alive.
The smoke clears and I see a body lying on the floor. I see a face breathing out smoke. The face looks so young, younger than Billy. The body is as big as mine, a bare chest and a blanket over the legs. Dare I take the blanket off to see what is there? And I’m not even sure that there are legs under there. With caution, I walk slowly into the room. My glare is transfixed on the smoke coming out of its mouth. At a guess, I would say it is a male. It looks at me, gobsmacked and shocked. Again, they will have not seen another person in so long.
“It’s okay....” I say, my mind drifting, transfixed on the smoke around. “I’m not going to hurt you”
“Please... kill... me...” he says, breathing out smoke after every word.
“Erm....” I can’t do that. He’s already in to much pain, he can’t move, and he’s breathing out smoke. There is nothing I can do to help. “I’m sorry”
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” he yells. Scared, I jump back at the wall. He sucks in some of the smoke and his cheeks suck in to his face. “Achh” he starts to turn blue, his eyes go up into his head, and then appears lifeless.
“What’s going on?” Billy asks behind the door.
“No” I say and walk out. “You don’t want to go in there... it wasn’t pretty”
“What was it?”
“It... is... now dead” I shut the door behind me and lock it. Well that was interesting. “Let’s go” and now for room 93.
