Eyes widening in surprise, Camden asked in disbelief. "You don't know what 'divorce' means?"
Daphne shook her head, looking ashamed. Seeing this, Camden quickly smiled and said, "Not many people do, it's fine."Before she could say anything to disagree, he continued, "Divorce means when a married couple split up legally. They won't be together in their marriage anymore, that's what my mom did."
"But why would anyone break up the family like that?" Daphne asked strongly, completely repulsed by the idea.
Camden shrugged, continuing to walk ahead which caused Daphne to follow him for a change.
"In the case of my mom, she fell out of love with my dad an in love with someone else. It's completely understandable." Camden was reassuring himself more than Daphne as he walked, head down.
Her soft laughter broke up the tension he felt inside, causing him to look at her with a puzzled expression.
"What's funny?" He asked, lightly nudging his friend on the hip.
Shaking her head, she met his eyes and smiled wryfully. "How much I wish I could be you..."
