Groaning, he ran his hand through his hair, looking past the trees and towards the direction of his home, or at least where he thought it was. He was positively lost in a forest with a girl and a group of her animal friends who had stolen his meal.
Now what am I going to do?
Daphne's voice brought him back to Earth and he met her worried gaze. Letting go of the ferret's paw, she stood up and watched him, trying to search his face for an answer.
Sighing, Camden replied, "I just remembered that I have to go home. The problem is I don't even know where home is at the moment."
Daphne smiled confidently as she closed her eyes for a second. Camden watched her weirdly as she crouched down to the floor, digging her feet into the soil as she planted her palms to the Earth.
Taking a deep breath, she held it in. As the seconds ticked by, Camden grew nervous.
What is she doing?
First, animals - he could believe.
But she was acting very...abnormal.
Maybe it's an orphan-thing.
Just when Camden was going to crouch down and nudge her, she looked up at him, her sapphire eyes appearing almost amber as the sun parted from the clouds above, shining down on her.
Grinning, she said, "I can take you home."
