Sighing, he got out of the car as the driver parked in front of the tall iron gates - the entrance to the compound. Their mother had always told them to buzz her so she'd let them in. The gates were electronically monitored but Camden still hadn't gotten used to the system, and preferred the normal one.
He tossed a few notes of money at the driver, feeling quite absent-minded at this point as he turned back to follow his sister to the gate. She was already hoisting her way up, her feet on the metal archs and within seconds, she was on the other side of the gate.
"Are you coming or not?" She asked Camden, sticking her tongue out. Rolling his eyes at her, he managed to haul himself over to join his sister rather than buzzing himself in. That would just be a waste of time.
Like any other Saturday, the two made their way across the wide campus. The tall and looming trees provided them the shade from the scorching rays of the sun, in contrast with the weather from this morning. It was a ten minutes walk from the gate to the nearest entrance to the mansion.
Comparing the size of it to a castle would be a huge understatement. It was more like a grand palace - almost taking up the same area as Buckingham Palace. Though Camden had now been here more than a hundred times, there were still a lot of rooms to be explored and found. It was momentus. And time felt so petite when you wanted to get lost in the maze it provided.
