Poetry on a coffee cup
Drink and art all mixed up.
Stirrer, sugar, sweetener, cream
Surrounded by a conscious stream.
Sticky, crumby table top,
Commas, dashes and the odd full stop.
Coffee's too hot and I burn my tongue
Read out loud and it sounds all wrong.
Frothy, skinny latte to go,
People going to and fro,
Throwing away their coffee cups,
Not giving my poem a single look.
