Patiently Awaiting In Orbit
A stone that slumbers
and lumbers in space,
snoring a trail of dust.
Coaxed by the sun
she awakes with a yawn,
and plunges t’wards our sphere.
The snores turn to sparks
of fire in the dark,
a star now shot from the sky.
But despite her demise
her performance gives rise
to great fame: the star now a star.
