My mind raced with thoughts about what I should do.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, OH MY GOSH! What do I do?! I lashed out and tried to wriggle out of the monsters slimy grip and I tried to use the knife that I had brought in case something like this ever happened, but the monsters skin was too hard.
It brought me to a place that had a large room and stony walls. It set me down and I scrambled up and stood as far away as I could. My heart started racing and sweat started rolling down my face as I eyed the entrance and I timed my movements.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" said a voice that sounded hoarse and scratchy, "A girl that can read the books? That's a valuable prize don't you think Zaspharous?"
All that came from the monster was a purr as the beast with two glowing red eyes and scaly skin walked to the person that had said those words to me.
I glanced at the opening and I closed my eyes. I hope all that training for track helps.
I took a deep breath in and let it out slowly as I felt my adrenaline rise. Then, out of no where, a burst of energy fell upon me and I sped through the opening screaming, "HELP!"
I raced to the place where i had came from... attempting to run faster than the creature, but in my attempts... there was failure. I screamed again as I glanced forward and saw figures of my friends ahead of me, and in my final attempt, I imagined a giant rock fall on the creature... and I heard an ear splitting thump as I was flung into the air. I landed about ten feet away from the struggling beast, but then I imagined a pointed rock fall from the ceiling fall from the top of the 'cave' and stab it right through the throat... and it did. Just as I expected. I held onto the ground as whispers went through my head. I slowly stood up and looked at Stanton, who was in front of me. I fell into his arms with unexpected force that made him stumble a little, but he gained his balance after a while.
We stood there for a while, and I heard sniffled noises and felt someone pat my back and heard things being whispered into my ears again, but I didn't care. I was too busy seeing images in my head as I struggled to remember as much as I could.
I pulled away and stared at Stanton and all I could say was, "I need a sheet of paper and pencil. Fast," and with that the got it out and set it in front of me.
My hands flew across the paper and somehow I made an outline of a... crooked line. I didn't know what it was, but after about a couple minutes you could see what I was drawing. And it was just what we needed. A better map.
