Chapter Seven: Waiting

Petra paced as she waited for her son to come home, leaving out tray after tray of his favourite cookies, but all to no avail. Peter was gone, and as far as he was concerned, never coming back. Petra would cry herself to sleep, begging for the answer to the question that haunted her for ages. “What did I do wrong?”

Paul was also grieving for the loss of his son, overcome daily with worry. What had happened to their precious boy?
