Chapter Twenty-Seven; Supplies
Word Count: 506
Danny opened the door, followed by a Rhys, two humans and a lycan. I raised an eyebrow at Danny, who shook his head, obviously not pleased with the arrangements.
"We're going out for supplies. Are you coming?" Rhys said. My eyes flicked to the lycan automatically. "He won't try to pull anything."
I didn't take my eyes of the lycan. My glare was returned; he clearly wasn't exactly happy with the way things were going.
"Wiz," Danny said, trying to get my attention. I ignored him. "Whisper, he'll behave."
Narrowing my eyes, I nodded slowly, finally tearing my gaze away from him. Danny held out a hand to me. I took it and let it drag me away, towards the back of the house. I could hear Rhys talking to the people he'd acquired. Danny shook my arm gently.
"It'll be fine. Relax. He won't try anything, not around Rhys," Danny said quietly.
"His kind killed my mother," I hissed. "Do you expect me to go along with him, after what they did to my family? Do you not know me at all?"
He held my shoulders tightly in his hands and made me look up into his eyes. Then he pulled me into a hug.
"I don't expect you go along with it, not at all. Just... try to ignore him if you can't get along, for my sake, for yours. Now, are you coming with us?"
I nodded, stepping out of his embrace. He smiled at me and followed me back into the hallway.
"I'm coming," I said, trying to ignore the lycan like Danny had told me to.
"The humans stay here with Towa. We leave now," Rhys commanded. So, the lycan's name was Towa.
"No, I'm going too," demanded the female human.
"No," Rhys said simply.
"Yes," she replied.
"Let her come," I said, looking at Rhys.
He watched my expression for a few seconds. "Okay then." He knew I didn't want her to come along. I just figured that if she knew what we would do to get 'supplies', she would get in line.
"I want to go too," said the lycan.
"We're not going to kill anyone if that's what you're worried about, lycan," I hissed quietly. Humans wouldn't have been able to hear what he was. I stepped forward and Danny grabbed my wrist, moving in front of me to stop me.
"Wiz, remember, just relax," he said comfortingly. I ripped my hand out of his grasp.
"Are we going then?" I said coldly through clenched teeth.
"Yes," Rhys said simply.
Rhys gestured for everyone to leave the house. The lycan and the two humans left first, then Danny after a short pause. I followed, but Rhys suddenly grabbed my upper arm as I past. He stared into my eyes, or rather, at my eyes. I knew what it was that he was looking at.
"You're one of us," he whispered disbelievingly.
"No, I'm nothing like you," I replied venomously, pulling away from him and walking towards Danny.
Danny glared at him over the top of my head. Then we started our little expedition.
