Depression

Outside,
seeds, plants, hope for
rain-swept days.
Sunny-morning, skyward straining
reaching growth -
no colour missing from blossoms
no painful thorns lurk.

Inside
lurk thorns,
painful, no blossoms.
From missing colour: no growth.
Reaching,
straining skyward,

mourning sunny days
wept rains for hope

plants seeds outside.
