As Steven and I glide round to the music, we didn't notice doors open, people laugh, or anything else. I did a little piroette, and giggled as Steven spun me round till I was dizzy.
"I wish you were a prince..." I sighed.
"Coz then I could dance and stay with you at the dance. I don't wanna be with those pompus puffed up princes. All they want is money and a nice princess on their arm, like a prize." Steven laughed at my impression of a fat prince, then one of Kohei. I sucked in my cheeks, and stood on my tiptoes.
"One is not amused at you, Steven! You should not be fratinizing with a princess. Blah blah blah! Oh, I need to get some lemons now, wouldn't want my face going soft and kind, now!" I made a face that looked like I had just sucked a lemon.
"For a princess, you're not very princesssy."
"I am a bit."
"I love to dance, I love to sing, I love some parties, but I wish I could be relaxed, and with proper friends. I just want to be a normal girl, or a servant girl!" Steven shuddered beside me.
"You don't want to be a servant girl. You get treated kinder that the boys, but it doesn't mean you don't get beat sometimes."
"Don't care. I'd be fine if I was with you-!" I was cut off as he pressed his lips to mine. I wrapped my arms round his neck. He pulled away gently. His eyes flickered open, and smiled at me.
"Heh, we're lucky Kohei hasn't found us yet..."
"Talk of the blighter, I think we'd better hid!" Steven hissed. They heard Kohei's voice gettin louder. They hid behind a tapestry.
"Princess Ami? Are you here? No time for childish games, Princess!" He left, still calling for her.
"Go suck a lemon." Steven grinned, and Ami covered her mouth, chuckling to herself.
