Chapter I; a secret discovered
|one|
In a far corner of the class room of the English teacher’s class, a girl was sitting in seat near the window, listened with half interest to the teacher rambling about the importance of figurative language of so and so. She sighed in distress as she felt stares glancing at her, and she look toward their way, they look the other way. The girl immediately glared at the staring people and went back to study her notes. The hours of the class went longer and longer, and then she felt depressed, as the clock’s hand went slowly.
‘The time and reality is torturing me eh?’ she thought and stared at her name written on the right corner of her paper. ‘Shion Ficali.’ She thought. ‘Shion is a particular name... for someone who’s not Japanese. Which I’m not at all, and it means ‘eerie lullaby’ Mom has strange tastes in names.’ Shion sighed and watched the other students whisper in silent voices and passing notes.
Her eyes began to wander across the room towards, the teacher who began writing the new homework assignment. The teacher turned around and said, “Okay class! Before you leave the room, write down homework down into your agendas. It will be due this Friday.” As the teacher finished, the school bell rang for lunch, and the teacher, shouted over the happy cheers for lunchtime, “Class is dismissed!”
The whole class except for Shion began to rush out the room scrambling to eat lunch, while Shion just walked slowly, grabbing her backpack, and stuffed her books and binders into her backpack. She began to walk slowly out of the room, until she was stopped by the lingering voice of her English teacher. “Shion, it seems to me… that you have something on your mind today that’s bothering you. Is there something wrong?”
She stopped in her steps, and turned around facing her teacher with a forced grin saying, “Oh no, there’s nothing wrong, Mrs. Dahlia. Just being engrossed into the works of poetry, teacher.”
Her teacher raised her eye and she motioned to say something but sighed hesitating, “If you say so Shion. But if you have any problems, you can come to me for advice.”
“Sure Mrs. Dahlia. And see you tomorrow for class.” Shion said, turning around going out the door, with her fake grin fading away. She walked in the crowded hallway passing people, and out of the west building, she went toward to the north building, where her locker was placed at, and inside was her lunch bag waiting for her.

Shion opened up her locker after spinning in the combination grabbing her lunch bag, and grabbed her geometry book and history book, putting in her English textbook in place of her two books. The long haired girl gingerly closed her locker, and placed her books into her backpack. She grabbed her back pack, walking down the hallway, not looking where she was going until Shion bumped into someone.

“Ouch…” Shion said falling on her bottom rubbing her head, and the person in front of her, lent a hand to her. “Hey! Are you okay?” the person said, and Shion looked up being surprised. She gave her hand and the guy pulled her up. “Thanks for helping me up…” she said murmuring and looking down.
“AH? When your properly thanking someone, speak louder and look at the person into the face, instead dawdling around you know?” he said, and Shion blushed. She looked up into the guy’s face, saying a little louder without murmuring. “Thanks for the help.” As Shion got a good look at the boy, she noticed his eyes being brown, with his hair being chestnut, and one more particular thing, a tattoo on his right shoulder.
“And your welcome! Well then I got to go. See you around!” he said running off and waving, while Shion became flustered and said quietly, “That was weird…” She began to shake her head, and ran off the other direction toward the stairs and went up the floor to the third. Shion stopped in her steps for to take a breath, and walked slowly to another set of stairs, leading up to the roof.

Shion walked up the stairs, with her mind clouded with thoughts of what happened earlier, between the boy she met, and his attitude towards her. ‘He acts so friendly unlike the others, who are scared of me…. He’s an odd guy.’ She nodded to herself, and went on walking and reached the door to the roof. She opened the door, and went outside on the roof.
It was quite windy and Shion began to muse over the fact, it was a sunny day, and it’s windy. “Such a strange day.” She said loudly and sat at one of the ledges, starting to eat her lunch. As she began to eat, Shion felt a weird sensation running through her. It was like a presence of some kind, and she heard someone shouting, “Power of the winds, bestow me the strength of the mighty winds!”
‘Huh? Who could that be?’ she thought getting up and walking near to the source of the shout. Shion walked cautiously, and slowly going to the voice, and behind the small building, she saw the boy who helped her get up. He was wearing gloves, and he was facing a beast that triggered Shion’s memory of the look-alike that destroyed her eye.
The boy was facing head start of him and moved swiftly and quietly, as Shion saw wind surrounding him. The boy attacked the beast with his fists, and he murmured, “Be sealed away by the power of winds!” His tattoo began to shine on his shoulder, and the beast was surrounded by scrolls and disappeared.
“Whew! This is tiring!” he exclaimed turning around seeing a frightened Shion on her knees, mentally tortured seeing a beast that looked the same of her past.
The boy became alarmed, and he exclaimed, “Oh crap! Someone saw me!”
