That very next day, during recess, Molly was sitting alone at her usual table, looking at her schedule. When suddenly, someone slid into the seat next to her. Molly looked up from her schedule, surprised.
It was the boy from yesterday.
"Can I help you?" Asked Molly, wondering why on earth anyone would sit beside her. The boy sat there for a few moments, starring down at the table.
"I'd like to thank you, for what you did yesterday. And I'm sorry, for what I did." He said. Molly looked at him, shocked.
"W-what are you talking about?" Molly had asked him, curious on what she had particularly done. There was no reply from him for a minute.
"At recess, you came over to me and asked me if I was okay. I said I was fine, and ran off." He explained. Molly remembered seeing the boys fighting and how one of them had pushed one of the guys, and ran.
"Don't apologize." Molly immediately said, and forced a smile onto her lips. The smile faded almost instantly. "I was... Just making sure you were okay." The boy shook his head.
"No, you saw what happened and came to help. But then I ran away from you, it was a rude thing of me to do." He explained. "Oh, I'm Nick by the way, I just moved here." Nick told Molly, and they continued to chat until the end of recess.
They met once again at lunch, and became good friends. Molly had shown Nick her drawings, and they drew through out lunch. Nick gave Molly his number, and asked her to call him when she got home. She promised she would.
When Molly got home, she dusted off her drawing materials, and decided she would draw today. She later called Nick, and they talked all through the night. Even after Molly had gotten yelled at by her father, she continued her conversation with Nick until she knew it was time to go. She fell asleep soon afterwords.
