The Getaway

 

Indignant waves admonished the proud rockface far below, sharpening it's ancient, scornful scowl with their unrelenting fury.

 

From the darkness of the path he could hear their elemental battle; the tender words of lovers and the yearning of a last goodbye... words spoken only to him.

 

On he climbed.

  

"Nice to get away", he said quietly.

 

Ruby said nothing.
