"Everyday things don't happen everyday. My heart stop when I realized what was happening. I've watched the movies, I've played the games.. But an amusement part is the last place you would want to find yourself trapped in."
I stared blankly at the entrance and only exit of the park. I couldn't remember anything except I had come to this amusement park on the opening day in the north part of the state. I was about to leave and everyone.. disappeared. I don't know where they were just gone.
I was only a few feet from the exit so I look over at it. It was strange. It seemed to, glisten. Wait glisten?
I tried to walk up to it and I hit my head harshly. I let out a yelp and I rub my now red forehead. "Glass? Well whoever trapped me hear must be an idiot because anyone knows glass can be broken." I say in my head. I scope around to find a rock big enough to break the glass wall. If I was leaving here I don't want to leave with glass wounds from trying to break the glass with my body.
Just as I think breaking the glass was a lost cause I find a large rock near the entrance fountain. "Perfect." with all my strength from years of softball I hurl rock towards the glass wall. I couldn't believe my eyes because it bounced back in front of me like a tiny pebble.
"What the... THIS IS LOGICALLY IMPOSSIBLE!" I yell out in an inflamed voice. I start thinking how can this be possible. "It could be bullet proof glass. No but if it was bullet proof glass it would at least make a scratch. Just as I thought it's impossible." I run my hand through my jet black hair as I lean against the so called glass.
I hear my phone ringtone go off as I do so and I get up to check it. I start to pace around once I read it.
"All of you're time here will end once your number reaches zero." The text reads.
"What does it mean 'all of your time here will end'? Are there other people here?"
I check for any sign of me having signal and I didn't. After a minute of me trying to analyze what this text means and how it got to my number when I don't have any signal a number popped up on my screen. It was twelve.
I hear a slight breathing over my neck then I hear a vaguely deep voice say something. "Why is your number lower than mine?" he says.
I look over my shoulder and see a guy with dirty blond hair and sunkissed skin looking at the number before it disappears.
I didn't see him walk towards me so I was frightened and I let out a small scream. And somehow along the way I managed to lose my balance causing me to land square on my back.
"Are you ok over there?" he let out a small chuckle. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you."
"If you didn't mean to scare me then why were you hovering over my shoulder like that?"
He held out his hand to suggest to help me get up but I rejected his act and I got up by myself rubbing my back and let out a quiet sigh of pain.
"I think it's time for me to introduce myself. I'm Thane."
"What's with the medieval name?" I question silently in my head. "I'm Evelyn." I finally say after 30 seconds of silence.
An awkward silence loomed between us before I broke it saying an idiotic question. "Do you know if this 'glass' is all around the park?"
"To my knowledge it is. I only checked on the other side though."
"How long have you been here?"
"From about around 6. I just started working here."
"Well no duh, its only the first day it been open." I look at the familiar orange and white striped uniform. It surprising suited him well. "I came right when they cut the red ribbon like they do in those movies. I was about to leave with my friends when everyone disappeared. I knew I shouldn't have came here on the opening day." I say with another small sigh escaping my lips.
"I knew I shouldn't have worked here. I don't even like amusement parks." I could see regret flash in his crystal blue eyes. I stare into them for awhile. They were too beautiful to not stare.
He waves his hand in from of my dozed off face. "Evelyn. Are you in there?" With those words I snap back to reality. "Did you hit your head, you were just staring at me like i was crazy."
I shake my head and rub my eyes. "No I'm just tired."
"How about you go to the café, I'll meet you there. I have to take care of something alone." I have the urge to not believe him but if he doesn't meet me there he can't escape. If he could judging by what I've seen by his personality he would have left right when he was stuck here.
"Ok. Stay safe." When the words left my mouth turned around and started walking in the other direction from me.
I don't know where I was going but I eventually find a light brown building with a sign above it reading "Porcine café" I observe the building and I see that it has no windows.
"It should have windows. There is such a beautiful patch of flowers outside." I stopped questioning the building and I walked in seeing a very tall guy and a short girl already in the building. I stop right in front of the door preserving my surroundings.
The tall guy walks over to me and looks down. I don't know whether it was because he was a stranger or because he was towering over me but I felt very uncomfortable with him standing right in found of me.
"Hi there! What's your name? Mine's Bryce." he says with a voice of butter. His brown hair shone in the light of the café. His eyes were as green as the emeralds in Chrissy's necklace. He had olive skin and I can hint a few freckles on his face. He seemed so blissful even in this situation.
"Evelyn. And, who is that." I say looking at the pale, clear skinned girl sitting at a table.
"I don't know. Whenever I tried to talk to her she ignored me." He said as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm sure it's nothing personal. Let me try to talk to her." I slowly make my way to the girl with light blond hair and a pink hat on. The rim of the hat covered majority of her face, all I could see was her mouth that was curved into a frown. Judging by that I could tell she would be shy.
"Uh... Hi. What's your name?"
"Lena." she says under her breath.
"W-What was that?"
"My name." she lifts up her head. "It's Lena." she says as she lowers her head back into the same position.
"Hi Lena!" I said as i energetically waved to her.
