One Day in the Life of an International Student

Hello.  My names is Japhur.  I'm an international student.  Do you know what that means?  That's a student who isn't American.  That's me.  I'm from a country far away and I'm here to learn English and get my degree from an American university.

I didn't want to come here really. My parents told me I should.  I was happy living at home, enjoying my life, playing with my dog and going out with my friends.  Then one day my father said to me: "Japhur, you must go to America!"  "Why, father?" I replied, "America is far away and it is a strange place.  They only eat hamburgers and drink Coca-cola. I do not wish to go there."
