The Black Forest {Part 9}

“May?” –A voice of a girl sounded inside May-Ling’s head.

“Finia, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you.” –May-Ling said while sleeping.

“May, why are you sorry? I’m okay.” –Finia said.

“I wish you could be. I know this is a dream.” –May-Ling said.

“If this were to be a dream could I do this?” –Finia then pinched May-Ling’s arm.

May-Ling quickly jumped into her feet, waking up from her dream. Finia was right there, standing right in front of her.

“I’m sorry I had to do that.” –Finia said.

May-Ling quickly grabbed her with her arms and gave her the most warm-hearted hug she ever has given in her life. “Finia! You’re okay!” –May-Ling said while tears where coming down her eyes, but this time they were happy tears.

Everyone woke up to May’s scream. It was already day time, the bonfire was out already.

Fifer slowly opened his eyes, seeing Finia with her eyes open and doing alright. He quickly got up and ran towards his twin sister and hugged her.

“What is going on?” –Finia said confused.

“You don’t remember?” –Zezrom said while walking towards the girl.

“No. Why is everyone acting surprise?” –Finia asked.

“What’s the last thing you remember, Finia?” –Lonyer asked.

“I… well, I remember the gorillas attacking us. And last thing my mind can remember is May being taken by one of them.” –Finia said while looking at the ground.

Everyone just looked at each other with a surprised look on their faces.

May-Ling then kneeled in front of Finia, grabbing her hand and looking at her.

“Finia, you saved us all.” –May-Ling said.

“I did what?” –Finia said still confused.

“The reason why you can’t remember more after that gorilla took me was because in that same instant you became this hero who unleashes all its power.” –May-Ling said.

“But what did I do? You know I don’t like using my ability to fight others.” –Finia said.

“I know, Finia. Do you see all these trees around us?” –May-Ling said while pointing at every direction.

“Yes.” –Finia said.

“Well, you woke all of them. You began controlling each and every one of them. You made them fight every single gorilla and you even saved me.” –May-Ling said.

“I really did that? But why can’t I remember?” –Finia asked.

“You let out such strong power that your body the shut down completely.” –May-Ling began to tear up again.

“You were unconscious for one day. You were not even breathing. “-May-Ling then looked at Saphiro.

“But him, he saved you. He told us we needed to feed you, hydrate you, and take care of you. So you would eventually wake up. And you did.” –May-Ling said while giving her another hug.

“I’m sorry.” –Finia said.

“No, don’t be.” –May-Ling said.

“I just haven’t seen you cried before.” –Finia said.

“That’s because I care a lot about you and Fifer. You’re both everything to me.” –May-Ling said. She then looked at everyone. “All of you mean a lot to me. You all helped, and that’s something I will always remember.” –May-Ling said with a smile.

Everyone walked towards May and Finia, and there was a group hug.

A small piece of paper then fell right in the ground, landing next to Zezrom. Zezrom quickly picked it up.

“Everyone, listen up.” –Zezrom said.

He then started reading. “That was a close one, wasn’t it? It’s so cute seeing all of you hugging like you’re all a big happy family. It’s a shame it won’t be a big happy family for long.”
