When light spread about me, I knew this was a totally different thing.

Light was everywhere. Colors were shone brightly down upon me, more vivid and real than any on earth.

I walked in a circle, stunned at my surroundings. Jesus laughed at me, and took me by the hand. He led me over to a house, a big Civil War era house. It was different colors which I can't explain because they aren't earthly. It had a wrap around deck, and a whole wall was of windows. I ran up to the door, swung it open, and stepped inside. The smell of maple hit me and I glanced into each of the rooms. I stumbled upon a room underneath a staircase, and opened the tiny door. I had to duck my head to get inside, but when I came back up, my mouth dropped.

In this room, there was walls and walls of books and the most beautiful shelves were holding them. I had always wanted a book collection and wondered for an instant whose house this was. Maybe Peter's? Or Paul's? Or Samuel's. Yes it must be Samuel I thought, but then I heard Jesus, who had been following me quietly say "Its your house." My house? I realized I had yet to breathe and inhaled. I looked about me with quiet a different perspective.

I ran out of the room, looking for the backyard wondering if I would find what I was looking for there. I did. I found the biggest pool I had ever seen, filled with crystal clear water. I also found someone else. My precious kitty that had died 4 years ago. She recognized me immediately and ran to greet me, and I buried my face in her fur. I could stay here, I reminded myself. I could.

But then what about my husband? And Rosalyn? And Gwen? What would happen to them? I didn't want to know, so I pushed it out of my mind. I heard a voice, quiet unlike Jesus's say to me "The cat is putting holes in your shirt." I jumped, and saw her. I knew it was her, from the way she spoke and the way she talked. It was Queen Esther. I didn't know quite what to do so I gave a bow. She laughed. She looked like I had always invisioned her. Tall, beautiful, graceful. She was my hero.

She pat the seat next to where she had been sitting and I sat down. "So, your our visitor? I hear He's given you a choice." I nodded my head excitedly, my cat still in my hands. I must have looked like a kid on Christmas morning because she laughed. "So what do you think your going to do?" I had tried not to think of that until now, but I supposed I would have to decide sooner or later. "I don't know" I said. "What would you do?" "What would I do? It doesn't matter what I would do, it matters what you do." She looked at me with confidence in her eyes.

Jesus rounded the corner. I hadn't realized He had been gone until then and I hopped up. "I see you've met darling Nicole. Isn't she a doll?" He smiled as He spoke. I blushed, she laughed. He gave her a kiss on the forehead, and whispered something into her ear. She nodded her head, then told me "Whatever you decide my dear Nicole know that you can always talk to Him. No matter if you stay here or you decide to go back. He'll always be there." I nodded slowly, feeling the sincerity of her words. She walked away, as gracefully as she had entered.

Jesus looked at me, with a sigh in His eyes. He was about to ask me the question.

The question.

I wasn't ready for this, I thought. But of course, I should have been thinking about this before the actual time.

He knelt, looked me in the eye, His beautiful hair blowing softly in the breeze.

"Have you decided?"

I nodded slowly, at first hesitantly then with a fire growing behind my eyes.

I opened my mouth to speak.

RosalynLivna It seemed like any average day, when a semi pulled out in front of Nicole's car. It was the beginning of the end to her life.
