Nunti heads through the vortex again, she knows she is going to be doing this more often. First on the left into the dragon world. The sky is still purple, and the fireballs are no more. I guess this is good, she thinks to herself. She looks all around making sure there are no fireballs, which there isn’t, and makes her way to the ground. As she does she sees a large red dragon lying on the ground, possibly dead. She land’s where its head is and see that it is still alive, she can see his chest moving.
“Can... can you hear me?” she says hoping that the dragon will hear her.
“Who is there?” it whispers.
“I am Nunti, a messenger from another world”
“Nunti, the bad news angel”
“Ha, yeah that’s me... are you okay?”
“No... I am not... I am near death, I was protecting my brother... and I..... I... was hit by.........”
“Fireballs... I was here before and saw them” the dragon does not answer. “What is your name?”
“That’s a...” the ground below her... starts to crack. “Nice name” Nunti looks up, thinking she is going to see some fireballs. She stands back, looks around and watches as the land starts to crack all around her. “Oh no"
“What is it?”
“The land... its... cracking... the fates were right... well... I don’t know why they’d be wrong... but... oh no"
“I should have known this was going to happen” the dragon lifts up a hand, and smashes it to the ground making the land crack more.
“What are you doing?”
“I am dying... so I might as well make this quick” he smashes his hand into the ground again and it cracks more. “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” he does it again, and this time, some of the land comes apart. The ground under Nunti falls and she quickly snaps her wings out and catches flight.
“Nooooooo!” he does it again, and this time, he falls into the ground. Nunti flies up to see the hole in the ground, and the dragon gone. She throws her hands to her mouth and sheds a tear. She looks all around and watches as the rest of the ground cracks. Knowing that there is nothing she can do, she flies up to the vortex, and back to her world.
