No Ordinary Outing ♦ ♦ ♦ Jai and NancyMature

Nancy's chipmunk cheeks were amusing, and Jai could barely hold back a grin. No, she didn't have perfect manners, but he didn't care. She had heart and that was all that mattered. After the clicking of the glasses, Jai listened carefully as she spoke. The blush on her cheeks gave her away a little, causing Jai to wonder if she was worried about something or what.

At the confession, his brows raised in mock indignation before he let out a quiet laugh at remembering when she blew smoke across his face. She was feisty. Jai liked feisty though, so it worked out in the end. But at the rest of her words, there was silence from him as he took the meaning of it all in. No one had said such things to him before and after a moment, he found his eyes dampening as well.

For once in his life, Jai Wilcox was speechless.

A hand searched his pocket and before she could blink, there was a velvet box in front of her. When it opened, the diamonds caught the moonlight, causing sparkles to dance across her face. He'd planned to save this for dessert, but presenting it now was the only proper reply to the speech she'd just given him in return.

Finally, he spoke. "Nancy Downs, I love you more than anything on this earth. Will you marry me?" His other hand took hers, preparing to slip the ring on her finger once she gave him an answer.

The End
