To his family members, Edric is a perfectly normal 20 year old boy. But he carries a deadly secret. Edric may still live in his parent's house and spend most of his time in front of the TV or reading novels, but at night he becomes a completely different person...
Edric sat in his usual spot on the couch, flipping through the channels on his cable TV. This is were he normally sat and were he normally never left; according to his family members. Being 20 years old, some might think he should find a job so he had something to do. But in Edric's eyes, he already had a job. Some people might call him nothing but a lazy couch potato, but to Edric, he was always learning. Learning was important to him. It didn't matter how overweight he got as long as he received the knowledge he needed for the night.
After watching The Silence of the Lambs, Edric felt he had learned enough for the day. It was 4:30 pm, perhaps it was time to call it a day and go read. He then made the 'rare' movement of going to his bedroom. Inside, he collapsed on his bed with a horror book. This book was about a murderer turned serial killer who somehow learned to cope with his feelings about his deadly deeds. In the book, the serial killer was able to outsmart the law his entire life before an epic ending to his spree accompanied by the taking of his own life. Edric put the book down after reading the last chapter.
"Could that be possible?" He asked himself.
Edric sat on his bed and stared at the wall until the clock struck 9:30. Bedtime. For his parents anyways.
Armed with new knowledge, Edric left his room, walked to the front door of his parent's home, and slipped into the night.
Time to go to 'work'.
