Night Raiders
"Another crime has been stopped by an unknown source tonight, the criminal was left tied to a post at the scene of the crime" The TV reporter flipped the page in front of her over "Police still refuse to give any information, only that the are currently looking into a lead." The TV report continued to ramble on about the mysterious halting of the crime wave currently happening in the small country area ofSilverTown.
Detective Merrick Addison stood and walked out of the lunch room. He made his way to the lab where his good friend, Lucas, was hard at work, researching a possible explanation to the halting crime wave.
"Anything?" Lucas looked up at him and shook his head "Nothing that connects these incidences to the crimes"Merricklooked over his shoulder at the website on the computer. Lucas clicked on another website and scanned the page. Nothing.Merricksighed and sat down at the table and waited.
"I got something!" Lucas called finally;Merrickjumped up and raced over, his heart pounding. "In Mythology a group of 7 immortal teenage demigods’ formed a group known as the 'Night Raiders' who were known to capture criminals and leave them bound and gagged at the scene of the crime. At first they started as criminals, raiding and destroying local businesses but then they suddenly changed course and began raiding enemy campsites and capturing wanted criminals. Entire Crime waves were stopped when they were around, and the worldwide crime rate was almost reduced to 0%"
"Are they still around?" asked Merrick, Lucas scrolled down a little more "It's unknown, around 930 years ago they went into hiding, because many wealthy humans and gods alike wanted to "hire" them as they had become very popular over the last 600 years before they went into hiding.”
Lucas went to scroll down but the window shattered and a glowing silver arrow impaled itself into the computer screen, a note was attached to the shaft of it. A shadow raced along the floor and disappeared byMerrick's feet. Lucas untied the note and read it out loud.
The Night Belongs To Those Who Choose,
But knowing more than you should,
Could leave you in a position you don’t want to be,
Dead and buried.
