The Unexpected TideMature

One day after school when Lucy and Nicky were at the beach waiting for their friend (Ben) and their mumm and dad were once again at job interviews, the tide yet again began to creep in; however this time it was an hour early and the two children were not expecting it. By the time they had noticed the unexpected tide it had already started to lap over the mosey rocks.

"Oh no!" panicked Lucy.

"What?" said Nicky, who had noticed the panicky tone in his sister's voice and had turned to see what she was looking at.

"The tide has come in early!" Explained Lucy.

"Where on earth is Ben?" Nicky said to himself.

The children could not swim as the currents were to strong so the children began to hurry across the slippery rocks. Although as a consequence of the moss they began to slip and slide; however they eventually gave up and sat down on a large rock where Lucy began to cry.

"We're never going to get home. Oh why didn't we listen to mum? Why did you have to pursuade me to come down here that day, why?" wept Lucy.

"It's ok Lucy someone will save us," reassured Nicky.

"But what if they don't? What if we freeze to death? What if we starve to death?" cried Lucy.

"Let's just stay positive," said Nicky.

The water was still rising and it began to rain. The sky was covered with black clouds and waves began to apear out of a once calm sea.

There was a faint light in the distance. One minute it was there; the next it was gone.

"There's a light over there in the distance, and a light Nick thought out loud.

"And how are we going to do that?" sobbed Lucy.

At that moment they both ahd an idea.

"HELP!" they screamed, "HELP!"

The End
