As she walked out of the creaky house into the darkness of the night with only the moonlight to guide her, Elizabeth thought about where she was going. She had no intentions of going anywhere specific, she just knew she had to get away from there, to get away from that hell-house she called home. She started down the sidewalk, and almost tripped over the skirt her mother had made for her. Elizabeth missed her mother so much, it was wrong. Ever since the accident last summer, she always felt so alone, always in darkness. She was almost to the end of the street when she felt the hand over her mouth so she couldn't scream. With his hand around her waist, he yanked her deeper and deeper into the dark trees on the opposite side of the brick road that she was walking down. Soon, but not soon enough, they stopped. Elizabeth felt the lips at her ear, and the breath on her neck when he said, "You don't scream when I let go, or its going to be much worse than intended." Elizabeth thought she recognized the voice, but wasn't sure. She just nodded, and he removed his hand. Suddenly he pushed her up against the tree. He told her to hold still, and once he pushed her head to one side, exposing her all-too vulnerable throat, she felt two sharp pangs jab into her neck, and she felt herself get weaker and weaker. Once he was done, she faded into unconsciousness and could never stop falling...
