"You're still holding your breath." Jeremy whispered to my ear, a moment after he pulled away. I breathed out and felt both tired and energized my the experience. "So?"

"That was just... Wow..." I said, no words comming to my head.

"That was your first time, wasn't it?" I nodded and he smiled. "...Is we a thing, or was it just one of those things that just happened?"

"You really want to go out with me?" I asked, surprised. "I mean I'm just kind of--" He shut me up with a stealth kiss.

"Beautiful." He said with a small grin. "That's what you were about to say." The gesture made me chuckle and blush even more.

"Come, on you can't really think that?"

"Call me, biased. But I have a soft spot for redheaded tomboys." He dragged me closer and hugged me, my head against his chest and looking at the sun disappearing behind the trees.

"It's getting dark." I mumbled, figuring we'd have to leave soon, I didn't want to stay in the woods long after nightfall anymore...

"Let me show you something." He said and I saw his playful grin. He searched through his jacket's pockets and took out a small bit of crystal that seemed to gleam lightly in the dying light.

"What's that?"

"Just a fragment of quartz, it's worth three dollars at the devil's den. But it's not what's important." He took the gem, clenched it in his fist, closed his eyes and then threw it in the air smoothly.

Instead of simply falling back down, it stopped in midair and light up like a miniature sun in the growing darkness.

"Holy shit!" I bleeped out, standing up on the ledge of the bridge, looking at the phenomenon. "How did you do that?"

"I knew it would impress you. It's a little trick I learned with Sean."

For some reason, hearing Sean's name irked me a bit and I sat back down, the smile that had formed fading.

"What is it?" Jer asked, looking concerned.

"About Sean... Am I going to be some kind of third wheel?"

He sat down calmly next to me and took my hands and he gave a bit of a nervous laugh. "I guess we're already having that conversation." He said with a smirk. "I know you probably have some doubt, suspicions and everything, anyone who dated a bisexual person probably thought about it... So listen; if you want me as your boyfriend, then Sean and I, it's done, over."

I nodded, feeling a beginning of a guilty trip for starting some kind of jealousy thing five minutes into things...

"Are you alright?" He asked, smiling nicely, making my worries fade to nothingness.

"Yeah... Sorry for dumping this on you."

"I figured we'd have the talk at one time or another, I was just hoping it would happen before we have some kind of misunderstanding." He said and I felt relieved. I crawled a bit closer and kissed him quickly, just as I pulled away, he dragged me closer, putting a small nose kiss as an encore, as if to seal the deal.

I put my head on his shoulder and took a few breaths to calm myself down. Eventually, the light died out and Jeremy grabbed the rest of his dinner, with me doing the same.

"What happened to the light?"

"It disintegrate in a few minutes when used like that."

"What was it anyway?"

"Ever heard of Will-o-the-wisp?" I nodded. "Well, Sean found out how to trap them in crystals, when you warm it up, they feel threatened and try to break out. If you hold it, it takes them longer."

"And you had one on you, just to impress me?"

"I always walk out prepared, impressing my date is just a plus." He said nagging me in the ribs. He then took something out, a small necklace that he kept in his pocket, composed of a handful of small white square chips.

"I want you to do me a favor, keep this for me, it's a sort of protection charm."

My hand ran on the small engravings. "What is it made of?"

"Dog bones. I know, kind of gross, but it works." He took my hand and closed it on the pendant. "Tell me you'll keep it with you where ever you go."

"Alright, alright." I said, finding his insistence kind of cute.

We started walking back toward town, as I threw a handful of nervous looks at the darkness covered woods, Jer light the way with another of his little crystal, making me less frightful.

When we arrived back at the park, he stopped and turned over, looking at me. "Listen, Gwen, Sean and I are doing something this Sunday, do you want to come?"

"What is it?"

"I don't know exactly, but we're probably going to go around, search for some weird stuff, like usual." He admitted with a chuckle.

"Well, if you're there. I guess I can come too." I said and we began walking again.

"Alright, then. Let me walk you home."

When we arrived at the street, we took the direction of my house and we arrived there not too long after.

"Want to come inside?" I offered and he accepted.

I sneaked a quick peek inside, the coast was clear and I was before the curfew. I walked inside the empty living room and kitchen, the sound from Lewis's TV coming to my ears from the basement. I dropped the remaining food in the fridge and took Jer's hand, leading him upstairs.

"So, this is your room?" He asked as he stepped in, looking at the dark wood furniture, tan colored walls and the brown and beige bed sheets as I opened the lights. "Seems cozy enough."

"You expected something else, didn't you?"

"Maybe, but I think I'll hold off on having any expectations, you keep blowing them away."

He walked a bit around the bed and looked at the small set of pictures on the night stand. "Is that you?" He asked, picking up one of them.

The picture was five years old, but was one of my favorite. It was me practicing archery at our uncle's ranch in New mexico, shirtless as I usually ran around in summer before my breast had (almost) began to grow.

"Yeah, I spent two weeks at my uncle's back in '09. I learned horse riding, archery and how to take care of animals. I usually go there every other year."

"Do you still practice? bow shooting I mean. I doubt you have a horse in the backyard."

"Once in a while. I think it's still packed somewhere in the attic with all the other things I didn't bother arranging around my room."

He sat down on my bed and So did I, before I just lied down on my back.

"You look tired." He said, running a hand in my hair. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." I said before leaning a bit up and grabbing his shirt, dragging him down on the bed with me., wrapping an arm around him and kissing his neck.

"You're awfully playful for someone that's on her first boyfriend." He said, chuckling before twirling around and kissing me.

"I think I'm just unloading a week's worth of stress and irritation." I said in between two kiss. We stayed together a bit, just hugging and exchanging body heat. Feeling numb and content, not wanting for things to change even a tidbit for now and ever.

His eyes were fixated on mine and he smiled warmly after about a minute.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked him.

"How cute you are when you're all absorbed in your thoughts."

"You know... I wish you could stay the night." I murmured in his ear. "My mum would murder me though."

"I'll admit, having a mother hen to deal with will be something new that I'll have to get accustomed to."

"She's not that bad, but I just finished being grounded, she thinks there's no kill like overkill when it comes to discipline after a first offense. Although I think she'd go a crusade on you too..." I said.

"Well... if you excuse me, I gotta bail!" He said jokingly, getting up really fast and I threw a pillow at him. He came back, laughing at it and he hugged me. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders from behind and we stayed like that for a moment.

"Alright." He said. "Listen, I've got to go, I work in the morning. Want to escort me to the door?"

I nodded, feeling a bit depressed that he already had to leave but I helped him grab his stuff before walking downstairs with him. He opened the front door before turning around, coming closer and dropping a final kiss for the night.

"I'll see you Sunday at Sean's?" He asked, whispering in my ear.

"Count on it." I replied.

He walked away and I stood in the threshold for a few seconds before closing the door, turning around and sliding down, sitting on the ground right there, eyes closed and breathing deeply...

The End
