"And what is that?" I asked her

Pointing to the busy scrawls

Across neat lines of paper

Among many crumpled balls

She frowned before she answered me

at a misplaced strand of hair,

and then she said, "This is my life

according to that pen over there."

Author guidance for This poem

Lyre *When you RATE, leave a COMMENT for the poet. This is an exercise in both poetry and in community. I have noticed many poets getting 3s with no accompanying commentary or suggestion. I don't like it. They don't like it. So please accept the responsibility of justifying or supporting your rating.

How challenging. Write a poem with the title decided by the author of the post before. It's quite absurd.

*Please CAPITALIZE all words in your title except "and," "or," "the," and "of." Just a quirk of mine. Thanks :)

Have fun! Try to rate others' work! Be fair, play nice, be appropriate (I don't want to mark this mature). You're big kids; you know what 'appropriate' means.

*Note to HATER-RATERS: Go. Away.

To all others: If you feel you absolutely must give someone a 1, please leave them a comment explaining why. They deserve that, at least, since you are saying their work is 'awful'.

Thanks, Eryl
