Yes, Judas Iscariot did leave his mark,

The thirtheenth one at the table,

To him his fate turned terribly dark,

When he failed when others proved able.

So the number thirteen was branded for life,

As the number for those who betray,

For two thousand years it has lived with this strife,

Of being the curse of one desperate day.

The Lord died that Friday, he died on a cross,

A suffering soul for a suffering land,

We experienced that day such a painful loss,

But received a love so remarkably grand.

So Judas the man, the thirteenth man,

Should he be forever the curse,

Or is he the reason that we now can stand,

When life takes it turn for the worse?
