Aiden just stared at me as if I asked the most obvious question of earth. Shrugging, he finally answered, "I don't know, good blackmail, I guess."
That bastard! So, this wasn't an attempt of being nice? I really should have known. I actually voice my opinion, "I should have know," I said while shaking my head, and looking down.
"What? You thought I was trying to protect you?"
"If I thought that, then I wouldn't be asking, I would just let it be," I snapped back. Ugh, great, I'm getting mad at him now, I need to be able to live with him without making my life hell. "Look, I'm sorry, I thought I'd just ask," I said, finally giving in. It was a pointless battle, with no winner.
"You should be,"" he stated before stalking off.
Ugh, attitude much? Jeez, is he always going to be a pain in the ass? "Excuse me, but where are you going?"
Not even turning around to look at me he simply stated, "Away from you."
"Well too bad, I'm following." By now I had caught up to him and was trailing behind by a few feet. Damn these heels.
All of a sudden he stopped abruptly, causing me to almost crash into him. I stopped myself just in time, but then he decided to turn around and face me, guess how that ended. Me falling. Yup, I lost my footing, and as I was waiting for the cold stone to make contact with my butt, warm arms wrapped themselves around my waist. Wait, what they fuck? Aiden caught me again. "It seems you enjoy falling for me," he stated in his really annoying cocky attitude.
"No, actually I hate it. It's not my fault I'm clumsy."
Looking down at me frowning, his arms still wrapped around my waist, he asked, "Wait, aren't you supposed to be a dancer. You know, all graceful and all?"
"So," I said defiantly. "You can be a dancer and be clumsy."
Shaking his head he continued. "Look, let's get one thing straight, I don't like you, you don't like me. I don't want to be married to you, and you probably don't want to be married to me. So let's keep it that way. If we're lucky my dad might realize this is one big mistake and call it off. Ok? So quit bugging me, and let me continue my life like you never even existed."
"That may be true," I contradicted, "but we're gonna have to marry each other, and I personally want to know if my husband is a serial killer on the weekends, or a rapist, or a pedophile, or anything else that can remotely get me a restraining order."
Chuckling, he replied, "I'm none of those things, trust me."
"You can put an alcoholic in a room full of alcohol, and wait for him to get drunk within the first hour, but he'll never admit to being an alcoholic," I stated matter of factly.
"Toushe, but does that mean you don't trust me?" Aiden asked with puppy dog eyes.
"I just met you, give me 5 good reason why I should trust you?"
I was vaguely aware of his arms still around my waist, that was until he lifted his right arm to count off of his fingers. There was a cool tingling sensation that I felt from when he touched my chin. I just shrugged it off, and let him continue.
"Well, you're marrying me. Two, I have a charming personality, three, I have breathtaking good looks. Four, you're gonna have to trust me some day, and five, did I mention the good looks?"
"Did I mention you were a cocky bastard?" I said back to him in an irritated voice. God, he really was a cocky bastard.
Then all of a sudden, I felt a cool surface against my back, and a warm body pressed to my chest. In swift movement Aiden had manage to pin me up against the wall. He had no right to violate my space like that. I started to struggle and squirm, but he just pushed himself on me even harder, making me gasp in pain.
"Let me go!" I yell whispered. He had both my hands pinned above my head, and he was freakin strong.I looked straight into his eyes, and saw lust? Mockery? Pleasure? I'm not quite sure what it was, but I couldn't see his eyes for very much longer, because his lips crashed onto mine.
I was shocked at first. But he kept on kissing me, soft and gentle. After a few seconds I responded, giving into the kiss. It soon got rougher, and he went and started trailing kissed along my jaw line, and nibbling at my neck. My breath was quick and jagged.
"Excuse me, I'm quite sorry to interrupt," came someone's voice, causing Aiden to deattach his lips from my neck and look towards the voice's source.
"No, it's ok, what is it?" asked Aiden coating his annoyance. While I was standing there, our bodies pressed together as if we were one, my arms above my head, held up by Aiden, and blushing like mad, Aiden was....calm. Like this happened everyday and he was sick of it.
"Mr. Norrington requested both of your presence for dinner," the maid, I think that's what she is, stated before turning and walking off.
The second she was out of sight, Aiden's lips met mine again, this time hungrily. But thank god I had enough sense to turn my head to the side. How I managed to do that with his lips pressed to mine like it was his lifeline, I don't even know. But that just made him begin to nibble on my ear.
He had to hold my arms over my head didn't he? "What's wrong?" he whispered in my ear. His voice sent shivers down my spine.
"N-n-nothing."I stuttered. Damn it.
Chuckling he whispered sweetly, "I say, let's skip dinner, and head up to my room and have a little fun. What do you say?"
"I say," I began finally finding that courage that I should have had when he first kissed me. "That let's not, and let's head to dinner like it's expected of us. God knows what they're thinking right now."
"Awwww, now where's the fun in that?"Aiden asked, finally looking me in the eyes.
"There isn't any, that's the point. Jezz, I just met you, and your already trying to get in my pants. This is why I call you cocky."
"If I was being cocky, then you would have pushed me away the first time I kissed you. But you just couldn't resist me. It's ok, your not the first girl who couldn't."
I had to admit, he was a good kisser, but I would never say that out loud. "Whatever, I could resist as long as I want. Now, would you please take a few steps back. This is myl ast night with my mother, and I intend to at least have dinner with her."
Sighing, he muttered something, but stepped back. "What did you say?" I asked curious.
He just flashed a grin and said, "Oh nothing, just that you didn't seem so worried about spending time with you mother last night."
"You're not going to say anything, are you?" I asked trying to sound nonchalant, when really I was panicking on the inside.
Aiden began leading the way to the dining room, and said, "I don't know, what are you willing to do for me to keep it a secret?" he asked mischeviously.
I wasn't able to answer because we had arrived at the dining room. He led the way, nd actually pulled out my chair for me, before taking the seat next to me.
Mr. Norrington sat at the head of the table, with his wife on his right side, and Aiden on his left. I sat next Aiden and right in front of my mother.
Dinner went by uneventfully, except I found out that our engagement party is tomorrow. Yeah, Aiden and I, and on a Sunday too. Seriously!?
Yeah, well at least my mom is coming, oh, and so are my best buddies from back home. I'd have to call them up in the morning and let them know.
When my mom left, the house was oddly quite, and I felt so...alone. It was weird, being in a strangers house that was supposed to be mine. I guess this is my life now, and I better get used to it. I hated that fact though, with a passion. And I hated my father even more for doing this to me.
"Aiden," rang Mrs. Norrington's voice, interrupting my thoughts. "Why don't you show Adelaide her room dear." She said it more like a command then a request.
"Alright, follow me," he said gesturing me towards the stairs. I quickly slipped off my shoes, and followed Aiden up the steps. God, my feet are killing me. "Could you walk any faster? I just spent the whole night it heels."
"Alright, alright, you're rooms right here," he said gesturing to a room off to the left.
