My Beautiful

She lies in the hollows of senility
The malicious demeanour exhausted
Euphoria stands till the body follows mind
Hair becoming tattered, vision frosted.

She came to nobody, despite our encouragement
Yet everyone pursued.
"Cats adore me," always.
Quick claws made many-a dignity bruised.

Once a sheen, calico coat and tail,
When those green eyes with life gleamed.
Now manged and squalid, matted ruffs
Corneas clouded, bacteria teems.

She no longer can tend to herself
As her years drip by and by
She lived before I stepped into this world
My only hope is that she's happy before she dies.

She's my beautiful.. no,
Not cat, more,
For I could never say goodbye.
