Musings Of Someone You Do Not Know
There is heaven. There is hell. There is purgatory. But what are they, really? Literal places? States of minds? Neither? It appears that the Bible answers all of the above. However, what are the options concerning its veracity? A. It could have been mis-translated Which could lead to : B.People tend to think that there is an underlying principle concerning the rules of conduct within the Bible. Tempora mutantur(I hope it is fine,my Latin is a bit rusty and yes I am trying to make it more ''mature''), and we change as well. What I mean is that people perceive the Bible through the zeitgeist. That's obvious. What does not seem to be so apparent, though, is the notion that the Bible's rules are always aligned with our own era's rules. How can we be certain of that, and therefore how can we ascertain who is going to be condemned/et al? Even on a basic level of an inquisitive believer the Bible's interpretation is on a shaky ground. What happens to us when we die? What is death? It depends what is reality. Death can be in our minds only, just as our perception of the world forced us to created an anthropomorphous omnipotent being or lakes of fire. Could be true, could be not. Still, we assume that our intellect is so powerful that it can handle everything : how can that be so if even mainstream science is beginning to acknowledge the complexity of the relations between our inner and outer environment? Hell can be a state of mind. Hell can be a literal place. Hell can be both. Hell can be that we die and cease to exist - what does the law of the universe tell us(energy cannot be destroyed, merely transformed into another state - state of what?), then? Isn't it the law of idiots if we want to be blunt? Hell can be that we create our own reality and ,indeed, create hell for ourselves here and ''there'' - whatever ''there'' is. Does it really matter to our everyday experience? Yes, if you apply the notion that it should matter. But is the application necessary? Will it change anything ? Apart from messing up your thought patterns or impressing a local parish priest with your eloquence - unlikely. Still, if someone tells you that it is time to ''get real'' isn't that the same as ''align your perspective with my perspective because this perspective has brought me success in life.'' What is success... and just because he was successful does not mean that circumstances will be exactly the same for you. I think that the key question is : Is there one convergent reality or are we capable of creating divergent realities as well? People tend to perceive reality as convergent most of the time : everyone is going to die and everyone is going to be judged , everyone is going to cease to exist. Is it possible that every single option can be equally real? How could one discern if it was not ? If you want oblivion - you shall have it. Hell? Here it comes. One might think it is nonsense : but according to whom? What? Laws of physics that tend to change every now and then? Our mindsets? Our bigotry? Right now such questions might seem irrelevant to most people : it's about fun and all the rest of it. That's great but shouldn't certain things be resolved/analyzed first and let the fun come later, when it is based on a more firm ground? Well, that's what I think, anyway.

The idea is there, but the structure is not, which makes it INFURIATINGLY hard to read. I like your sense of questioning societies laws though, very new age!"
