They were called the Muselings, an affectionate name handed down by Calliope in the earlier years to describe those minor aspects that somehow still managed to inspire people to great works. The original Muselings were simple figures like Hunger or Pain or Greed, who came into being just because their topics showed up enough to warrant someone to look over the genre, as it were.

Later, though, the abstract senses sprouted as new worlds and new waves swept over the mortal population. Novel notions never before imagined wrapped themselves in consciousness, seeping into works across the world...

Basically, create a 'Museling' and tell us all about it. - Names should probably be nouns as states of being [if that makes sense] ex: Hunger instead of Hungry. But that's just a suggestion. Really. I just don't think I could write a chapter called So Hungry Sometimes It Sounds Like My Stomach's Trying To Eat Me. I'm not sure if anyone's inspired by that, either. But, hey, I could be wrong.
