The drawer was full of loose Confederate bills in denominations of twenty, fifty, and one hundred dollars. They were of no value as currency, but as Southern or Civil War Memorabilia, they would probably bring in a couple of thousand dollars at a public auction.

The lady and gentleman were clothed in the style of over one hundred years ago, but the contents of the purse were thoroughly modern. A masquerade ball perhaps? There had been no such event in this fleabag hotel.  Why....
