Anthony stared at the cardboard boxes. They had been watching him for a while now, daring him to make his move.
After all, isn't that what it's all about?
He remembered the days when this old town was enough. He remembered when it was big enough to hold his dreams, and when it was big enough to hold his hand.
But he was done. It was finished, and he was moving out.
As he stood up, Anthony smiled despite himself. There were so many things he'd miss.
The least of which were me. I could never blame him for leaving me behind to rot in this old town.
