Last GoodnightMature

As they reached the cave Melissa sat down, leaning her back on the cave wall. She knew, no matter how much she tried she would not be able to sleep. Lazarus sat in front of her, looking at her as she pulled her knees closer to herself. "Lazarus..." She murmured, her voice quaking. "What have I done?"

He moved himself next to her and put his arms around her, holding her against his warm body. "This was inevitable. Someone was going to make the first move. Please don't blame yourself for being the one to make that first move,"

"I'm sorry. Just I can't help feel like I've signed our death certificate." She whimpered, wrapping her arms around him pulling herself closer to his warmth.

"No. We'll be fine." He took her hand, squeezing it reassuringly.

She turned to him, kissing him firmly. "I love you." She whispered, kissing him again.

"I love you too. Try not to let his calm confidence get to you. I know I did, but please don't let him bring you down before we even come to the actual fight," he comforted hugging her tighter.

She shook her head softly. "But what if... what if this is our last time together?" She asked somberly.

"Then... well I'm sure you know what I would say. I may try to be the gentleman, but I'm still just a man." He laughed, a little embarrassed.

She nodded. "An immortal man." She smiled, slowly pulling down the zip on the back of her dress.

"Melissa," he said. "You don't have to do that." He tried to smile reassuringly.

She kissed him softly. "But, you're right. A man or no."

"I don't want you to feel like you have to just because you know I want it..." He mumbled.

"I don't." She smiled, peeling her dress off, her skin glowing slightly from the dim sunlight that created shadows across the cave floor.

"I..." his words were lost as he took in her appearance, the glow of her skin, the passionate look in her eyes. The smile on her lips.

Melissa saw the look in his eyes and she edged away from him moving toward the back of the cave giggling.

"Where're are you going?" He laughed.

"Away from the light." She laughed with him, then held up a finger, beckoning him closer. "Now. Do you want me." She paused, dropping her hand. "Or not?"

"Ah." He nodded, following her deeper into the cave. "Hmm, I think you know the answer to that one." He lifted her chin up, kissing her on the lips with a passion that exceeded that of the day before. She smiled, slowly undoing the buttons of his shirt, helping him undress.

He put his hands on her hips, running them over her bare back as she pulled his shirt away. She kissed his shoulder gently, placing soft kisses over his bare chest, when she got to his waist she stopped, slowly undoing his jeans.

He closed his eyes for a moment, and stroked her hair as she freed him, bending down and kissing her as she looked up. She smiled, looking at the hunger in his eyes. Slowly she reached her arms up, wrapping them round his neck kissing him passionately.

He shuddered at her touch, smothering a moan as she brushed against him. She looked at him, desire glowing in her eyes as she fell back, slowly pulling him down on top of her. "I love you." She whispered into his ear before kissing his shoulder again.

"I love you too," he groaned. She tightened her embrace on him, crushing her cool body with his own as he took her under the sunset. His hot body began to warm up her own under his touch. "Oh my God. I love you so much." He moaned again, his lips opening hers. His tongue twining around hers. "I know." She whispered, her breath escaping her as she broke away from him.

When the sun began to go down again Melissa turned to him, his arms wrapped around her, covering her naked body. His body was hot to the touch but hers was only warm because of his touch; not a single bead of sweat clung to her."Lazarus..." She whispered, wondering if he was awake.

"Mmm?" He groaned, his eyes slowly flickering open to meet hers.

She kissed his lips softly. "Did you sleep?" She asked.

"Not really." He sighed, kissing her back.

"Memorable day?" She laughed.

"Very." He smiled, desire still slightly clinging to his lips.

"I'm glad." She smiled back wrapping her arms around him, kissing his collar bone, then his neck surprised she never got the urge to drink his blood. "But. Night is here." She sighed.

"It is and we should go. C'mon, we can laugh at death in the face. Hysterically."

"Yeah. Been there. Done that." She laughed.

"Then we should know what we're doing."

"Yeah, but just in case." She smiled kissing him one last time passionately before getting up slowly. He kissed her back and reluctantly let go before beginning to get dressed. Melissa did the same, pulling up her dress and zipping it up, before closing her hand around her cross, muttering a silent prayer to her mother beneath her breath.
