From Good to Bad

On the fifteenth of July, things went from really good, to really bad. It started when we were all just lazing around outside. It was 9:15 exactly. I had just said something that had somehow made Max bust out laughing.

"What? What's so funny about that?" I demanded, confused. Max didn't answer because he was laughing to much. "Max! I really don't get it! There is nothing funny about what I just said!"

"Yes... there is" he gasped between laughs.

"What?" I asked. He just shook his head. "What?"

"Your so funny Sara" he chuckled.

"What!? Seriously! What is actually funny about what I just said!?!?"

"Hahaha. I love you Sara, I really do" Max grinned. Then Ben, who was already annoyed with the noise we were making because of his headache, got really annoyed.

"Max! Can't you just shut up for one second? You tell her that every day! I think she knows!" he exclaimed. I stared at him, shocked and slightly hurt. Max suddenly wasn't so happy any more and he sighed loudly, annoyed.

"Ben... that wasn't very nice. We were just having a bit of fun... " I trailed off.

"What've I done now? I was just saying"

"Well... what you said kinda hurt me. I'm kinda upset now..." I sighed sadly and looked down.

"Look, I'm sorry. You know I have a headache and you know why" I did know why. It was because of his feeling that something bad was going to happen. This was turning into part one of that 'something bad'. "Please, just try to be a bit quieter"

"OK. Sorry" I said quietly.

"It was kind of a bad thing to say though. It surprised me" Abbie said. I sighed again. Someone had to carry it on didn't they?

"Stay out of it Abbie. It has nothing to do with you" Ben snapped. Then he sighed and put a hand to his forehead. Abbie looked a bit upset.

"Abbie, please don't carry it on" I tried to comfort her "He has got a really bad headache. I know how he feels. It's actually quite  hard to not shout at everyone"

"OK. Sorry"

"Can't you just wish for your headache to go away?" Max asked. Ben sighed loudly and scowled at him.

"Max! Haven't I just said not to carry it on?" I was getting annoyed.

"Yeah, but-"

"Well don't carry it on then!"

"Please Max.It really is hard" Ben put in.

"Can everyone please shut up?" Abbie said.

"Shut up Abbie! Just shut up! God, this wouldn't even be happening if you hadn't carried it on in the first place!" Ben yelled at her. Everyone fell silent. Abbie's eyes were wet, she ran into her tent.

"Now look what you've done" I said. Ben shot me a venomous glance and put his head in his knees.

"Helpful" Max muttered.

"As if you've been any help yourself!" I pushed myself away from him. Ben suddenly got up, grabbed my hand and dragged me into the forest. And for once, Max didn't say anything about it.

The End
