He glances at the cup on the table and noticed that I hadn’t drank any of it.

“You aren’t thirsty?”

“Not really.”

“Are you hungry? I could get you a sandwich or something.”

“I’m fine, don’t worry about me.”

“Alright. Well, I’m sure you know why you’re here, correct?”

“Yes sir.”

“Would you please explain to me what happened?”

“Well, earlier I was hanging out with Mary at the park. We were talking about how she was starting to feel like she was being watched. I told her she was crazy, and to stop worrying about her imagination, but we were interupted by James. He showed up after a while and they started talking and they started kissing. I said that I had to go and pick up my brother from soccer, and so I left. They seemed happy enough when I left, it never occurred to me that he was a threat to her. I arrived at the fields early though, and so I went back to the park to see if they wanted to meet up later. When I showed up they were walking into the woods, and before I could go ask them my brother texted me that his practice was done and he was waiting for me. So I left. I picked up my brother and went home, deciding that I didn’t want to hang out after all.”

“Why didn’t you text them and find out? Why did you go to the park?”

“Well I don’t have James’ number and Mary didn’t have a cell phone that was hers.”

“Alright. Why did you decide to go to the park then? What were you doing there?”

“I found a note in my pocket. Mary must have slipped it into my pocket while we were talking I guess. It said that she needed to talk to me tonight about something and that she wanted to meet at the park at one. So I set my alarm to go off at midnight and I went to the park.”

“What about the knife? do you always carry knives on you?”

“yes I do. I like being able to defend myself and others if I can. I carry my throwing knives everywhere I go outside of school and the store, but I don't flash them around to intimidate, I only use them as defense sir. I never expect to use them, but that doesn’t mean I won’t in life or death situations.”

“Clearly. Please continue.”

The End
