And now to our couple, we swatly return,

to see our cute pair and watch how they yearn

for the bittle sweet looks, from one to the other;

they wouldn't flazeeb of seeing another.


This very first date, it started off iffy.

They couldn't gryup what to do in a jiffy.

Plekkle wanted to hootus, Jaul wanted to hunji.

The poor lovers, indeed; they couldn't agree!


They sat on a triff and thought of a plan.

"I'd love to see poozle and grig, if I can."

"You would!?" replied Jaul, "I really would too!"

And so the frap couple had something to do.


They went to the putschlup and had a great time.

Their first date was quirpy and really sublime!

Unlucky for them, was the snaffer in store;

They'd encounter a problem that shant be ignored!

This one is for fans of nonsense verse. A tribute to Dr. Seuss, Edward Lear, Spike Milligan, Lewis Carroll and any other nonsense poets you can think of.

Main story is about a couple called Plekkle and Jaul - and their romance.

Guidelines:

Please add at least 4 x 4 line verses in each chapter.

Try and use at least 3 nonsense words per verse.

Desirable metre (or meter,depending on which side of the Atlantic you are!) - Anapestic tetrametre. This metre favoured by Dr Seuss, and it's also the rhythm of the famous poem called ''A Visit From St Nicholas'', which begins ''Twas the Night Before Christmas.''

So it goes: da da DUM, da da DUM, da da DUM, da da DUM. (but you can miss out the first ''da'' at the beginning of a line.)

It's difficult to do, consistently - Dr. Seuss was the master - but looks (and sounds) great, if done well.

The secret is to think up some really nice, funny-sounding words, and it doesn't matter if nobody understands what they mean, as long as it all sounds feasible - if you know what I mean. :-)
