Love Game

Odd's POV:

Blinking, I felt more tears spill from my eyes. I guess this is it, the end. The end of our love story. I was standing there watching my one love get buried in the ground. She was dead and I was never going to see her again. I only have thing left of her and that is...Saphire. Our only two day year old little girl.

Flashback:

I was laying on a hospital bed that did not belong to me, but to the love of my life, Sissi. She lied there next to me, her eyes just about to close and her life just about to fade away.

"Sissi, please, try! Try to stay alive!" I pleaded her.

"I can't, Odd, it's too late now. I'm sorry." she said softly.

"But-!"

"Just promise me something before I go."

"Anything."

Sissi closed her eyes and tried to hold on a little longer.

"Promise to name our daughter...S-Saphire." she managed to get out.

"I will!" I told her.

"And give her these. I've written them for every birthday." Sissi handed me a pile of letters and soon her eyes closed.

"No, wait, don't go!" I shouted.

But, it was no use, she was gone. How could she? How could she leave me all alone like this? It's only been a year since we've been married and now she's gone, leaving me with an infant that will remind me of her each and every aching day. How do I live without her? How?
