CHAPTER 7

The King paced in front of the double doors of the ballroom.

"Where is she?!" he demanded, shouting at one of the servants.

"I don't know your Majesty!" the servant cried with fear.

The King looked infuriated as he stared with a vicious expression.

"Well you better find out where she is before your head ends up being dismembered from your body!" he screeched, picking up the servant by the scruff of his collar.

The Queen sat patiently on her chair, radiance seeping from every inch of her body. She was calm and collected and showed no signs of anxiety about her daughter who appeared to be missing. Her emerald eyes shifted over to Darius who entered the small waiting room in his hooded black cloak, behind him followed Amelia. She was dressed in a violet dress, which flowed onto the floor and caressed her body with silk. The tail of the dress dragged on the floor behind her as she walked gracefully into the room.

"Where have you been?!" The King bellowed in his daughters face. "I've got a room full of people in there waiting for this party to start and-"

"Excuse me sire for intervening, but it was my fault that Amelia was late for this occasion." Darius spoke clearly.

He pulled of his hood and his golden hair shimmered as the light from the chandelier above shone down on him. The Queen twitched with jealousy at this statement. Amelia searched for her Mother for help, instead, the Queen averted her gaze towards the doors of the ballroom.

"Mother, Father. I have something to tell you." she looked nervous as Darius stood closely behind her for support. "I'm in love with Darius." she said as she looked up at him irrevocably in love.

The Queen snapped her head round and snarled quietly at Darius. The King seethed with anger and could think of no words crueler as he ordered for the guards to lock Darius in the cells. He could fight back. Why wasn't he trying? The Princess cried with heartache as the King held her back as the knights dragged away her Prince.
