I do not know

I love you,

you used to say,

every morning of every day

But now I'm not so sure

It's the little things you do that count

and the things you don't that mount,

disinterest in all I do or say

with empty eyes you walk away

So why do I stay,

why not go?

Is it fear

or shock of the new

or still a faint spark of love for you?

Or hope that something you say or do

will fan a flame of passion new

And I can say with heart so true

Yes! my dear,

I do love you
