I left Mom to explain to Dad, it only felt right. She herself had said that she needed to explain to him she had no choice to accept, but the way she looked at me as I glanced back at her was as if I had utterly betrayed her, and I guess in a way I had but in my heart I knew there was something going on there that she and Dad had to work out, and throwing me into that mess wasn’t going to be a good idea. They were my parents and I loved them, but if they had problems, they had to work it out for themselves. Huh, maybe that’s why I never got any dates.

Sighing I headed for my room and when I opened the door James was already there with his mask off.

“What the hell happened? You look like you got into a fight and lost and trust me; I know what that looks like.” James wasn’t lifting my spirits at all. I threw my bag on the floor and unbuttoned my shirt.

“Do you think there is something wrong with me?” James stared at me and I turned to look at him.

“Oh, that was a real question?” I threw a pillow at him and it slid through his body like butter and he laughed. “Sorry, I get it. Yeah, you could say there is something wrong with you but I don’t think it’s a bad thing.” I gave another sigh and fell to the floor, laying there like a starfish. “Why? What happened?” He asked for the second time and I stared at the ceiling. He was about to get up when I spoke.

“Meir has taken an interest in me.” I stated. He sucked in a deep breath. “So I take it you know who Meir is then.” He moved towards me.

The End
